The book had good parts, happy parts, and parts where I got lost in the story. I can't begin to say how much I appreciate a clean(er) YA book. Some language, but no f-words, and no violence. On the plus side, this is one of the cleaner young adult books I've seen in a while. The book is called Royally Lost, so I expected Becca and Nikolai to get lost together in Europe. The last big downer *SPOILER ALERT* for me was that no one actually got lost. I was told, rather than shown, what was going on and what the characters experienced.

Also, much of the writing felt too obvious. They had complete disregard for anyone or anything other than their own interests. Becca, Nikolai, and Dylan all came off as immature, spoiled children that constantly lied to and manipulated their parents. While that much held somewhat true, it wasn't nearly as cute and fun as I had anticipated.įor starters, I didn't like the characters. The cover and synopsis promised light, romantic fun while getting lost in the streets of Europe. I didn't like it nearly as much as I hoped to. I wavered between 2 and 3 stars on this book.
